Edit in the next
dimension VT-Edit takes your workflow
and productions to the next level of quality and
efficiency with real-time positioning, sizing,
scaling and rotations. Interactively soften clip
edges and take full benefit of three different
types of real-time color correction (Basic, RGB,
YUV).

This is an edit system designed
for people who need to work quickly, as you can
play your projects as you continue to edit, undo,
trim and composite. Should you begin building
complex layers, VT-Edit will quietly begin
background rendering anything that exceeds your
system’s real-time playback…all while you remain
focused on the story, without concern for the
process.
Standout Standards
Conversion VT-Edit possesses the
incredible ability to mix both PAL and NTSC in the
same timeline, with real-time playback. No
rendering or importation is necessary. Drag, drop,
play: it’s really that simple. NewTek wanted to
improve your chances of telling your story around
the world, and it’s never been this
straightforward before. Re-start VT[3] in either
PAL or NTSC mode, load your project and play in
the standard of your choice, in real-time.
If there is any edit setting you
wish to refine, all keyframes can be adjusted
using the powerful real-time spline controls.
Create as many keyframes, unlimited control points
between each keyframe. Combined with unlimited
undos and the ability to save your undo stack to
disk, creative freedom is raised to levels never
enjoyed before.

After spending a moment refining
any curve in VT-Edit, this setting can be saved as
a custom preset, to be recalled for any clip or
group of clips with a single click of the mouse.
While dozens of presets are already supplied, you
can customize and save as many as you wish. These
presets can even be traded among editors. Tool
Shed also offers tools for smart group control
over clip lengths, markers, transitions, and even
provide detailed project reports. Tool Shed’s
one-click wizard environment allows quick-edit
creations and Cut-To-Music demo reels with
unbelievable accuracy and speed.

VT[3]™ allows real-time
interactive control of the speed of your VT-Edit
clips. Draw emphasis to the special moments in
your video by smoothly slowing the clip in the
spline editor. You can even stop or reverse the
clip, all without affecting your project’s total
time.
It’s a
Wrap VT-Edit Wrapper codec wraps
VT-Edit project data into AVI files. This means
you no longer have to waste time rendering
projects for DVD authoring or to export into
compositing or animation software. Gigabytes of
uncompressed video can be saved instantly, without
rendering, and without duplicating clips and
taking up precious hard drive space. Any project
saved as an AVI will re-load into VT-Edit as a
complete project.
See it the way you
want VT-Edit allows you to examine
your project in several ways: Storyboard, Timeline
or an EDL Details view. Perhaps the best part is
VT-Edit’s ability to view the same project in dual
views at the same time, without exporting or
updating. Work your project in the real-time view
mode that makes the most sense at the moment: use
the Storyboard for quick sequencing and trimming
of initial edits, then begin working match points
and composites in Timeline, and get a broad
overview of assets in the Spreadsheet view. Switch
views as you continue working. In a few short
moments, you will realize this is an editor
designed by veteran video producers who want to
put the focus on real-time creation and
experimentation.

VT-Edit supports EDL import and export, allowing
the import of Grass Valley, CMX, Sony, and Excel;
EDL lists can be loaded into either VT-Edit or
even directly into the Digital Disk Recorder. An
integrated RS422 and 1394 deck manager has full
configurations for an unlimited number of decks,
all with different settings. It features an
easy-to-navigate spreadsheet entry format, easy
mark-in and mark-out key controls and full deck
control integration. Batch capture features
frame-accurate capture, with time code analysis,
recapture abilities, and it allows for
plug-and-play expansion for future capture
devices. Print-to-tape is supported in Batch
