Proc-Amp

A Processing Amplifier, or Proc Amp for short, applies changes to incoming video to meet broadcast specifications. Just because your program monitor shows a nice flesh tone on your talent doesn't mean it is accurate. The proc amp allows you to restore settings based on a known signal pattern such as color bars, used with along with VT-Scope, you can quickly make sure you are capturing or broadcasting perfect video. VT[3] brings a recognizable rack-mount piece of gear right to your desktop You have full control over:

  • Brightness
  • Contrast
  • Hue
  • Saturation
  • U and V Offset
  • U and V Gain

In conjunction with the optional SX-8, the VT[3] Proc Amp allows you to use any video input you wish, without external genlock or time-base correctors. 24 Inputs can be timed and switched perfectly using this breakthrough technology. No longer needing individual Proc Amp controls on a per-camera basis can literally save you enough money to pay for VT[3] on your first multi-cam job.

One control, unlimited flexibility
The NewTek team is filled with experienced video producers that know what you need to succeed. That is why NewTek offers one-button goodness on the Proc Amp. Activating the 'Track Preview' button allows the Proc Amp to dynamically select whatever you have chosen in the Switcher's Preview Row. This allows adjustment of all sources right before taking them to Program Output. Easily save any setting as a preset for instant recall on a later project.

Provide the Proc Amp color bars, and it is intelligent enough to calibrate the input to meet broadcast specification, and also to allow much faster color-matching of multiple inputs. Every Switcher input can be controlled via Proc Amp: cameras, decks, DDR, VT-Edit, LightWave and CG can be modified in real-time to maintain the highest quality ouput. The Proc Amp Advanced panel lets you get very particular about what you're adjusting, and then save that as your global default. More than 60 individual parameters can be set in the Advanced panel, including Gamma control for computer sources and analog sources.
